Side Lying Leg Lift

Lying on your side, hips stacked on top of each other, bring the top leg up towards the ceiling with hips in line with your torso or slightly behind, and with toes pointed straight. Do not let hips rotate forward or back. Lift top leg leading with your heel. Motion often stay small to ensure quality targeting of the gluteus medius muscle. It's very easy to cheat with this exercise. Ensure your hips are stacked and your leg doesn't raise to far in front of you are to high that makes you want to rock your hips back just to get higher.
